MEET DR. YOON TAK
As a pediatric dental specialist, "Dr. Yoon" has committed herself to the pursuit of providing comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care for young people.
 Her care is focused on the development of healthy smiles for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs. She does consider it her greatest responsibility to provide this care in a manner which recognizes, supports, and promotes the psychological and emotional condition of each individual young person.
Dr. Yoon grew up in a family that divides time between homes in Seoul, South Korea, and in southern California's Orange County. She attended BIOLA (Bible Institute of Los Angeles) University, where she determined her interest in dentistry as a career providing “hands-on” service to others and time for family. She completed her bachelor’s of science in biochemistry in 1998.
Dr. Yoon received her doctorate of dental medicine (DMD) from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2003.
Like many new graduates wanting to balance academic achievements with additional clinical experience, Dr. Yoon participated in a one-year General Practitioner Residency program at Virtua Hospital, in western New Jersey. Her commitment to "comprehensive patient care" lead a desire impact patients’ well-being before problems could. She wanted to get involved early in her patients’ lives.
Dr. Yoon applied and was selected to a residency-training program for pediatric dentistry at Temple University Hospital's Episcopal Division. She completed the two-year residency in 2006. She served her second year as Chief Resident, and received the Residency Leadership Award at graduation with her specialty certificate.
Since completing her training, Dr. Yoon has married, relocated to her husband’s home in Texas, and is starting a family. She has served as adjunct faculty at Baylor College of Dentistry’s Pediatric Dentistry Department, and as staff at Dental Health Arlington.
